164 QuickFit Binding/Deep Cleat

Starting at $250

The Model 164 was built with deep snow in mind. It features additional surface area to increase flotation while walking and hiking. The Deep Cleat provides added grip and traction in deep or dry power conditions.
  • Hand Crafted, Aircraft Grade Aluminum
  • Heel Cleat has Teflon Hardcoat to help prevent ice and snow from sticking
  • Sleeve-joined Tubing for Added Strength
  • Neoprene Springs on Hinge for Constant Tension and Improved Articulation
  • Lightweight, Abrasion Resistant Decking
  • Interlocking Decking at Tip and Tail is covered with Polyurethane Scrape Plates and Double Riveted
  • Quick-turn Fasteners for Interchangeable Bindings and Cleats
  • Made in USA
  • The Quick-Fit Binding is designed to fit comfortably with any size shoe or boot.

They go on quickly and stay secured at any speed or on any terrain.

The Base is the same for all sizes. The Straps are a NEW system (Special type of Hook and Loop) and designed to keep the strap from loosening with sudden turns or movement. The Straps are inserted according to size needed and are interchangeable. This means that you won't have excess strap length to worry about but, at any point, you can change strap sizes or type without getting a whole new snowshoe or binding.

The advantage of the Quick-Fit is that it is a "custom fit" and once set, it has virtually no excess strap length and snaps on and off quickly.

    Small option fits narrow shoes
Regular option fits up to size 11 running shoe
Large option fits up to size 14 and most boots

My last snowshoes were Atlas

They lasted over a decade but finally the plastic binding came apart after heavy daily use.

The 164 doesn't appear to use plastic and they seem well built. It is taking a bit to get used to the loose heel flapping when you walk. My old Atlas tied the heel down and worked very nicely. I am not sure I like the loose heel feature in the 164s with the shoe slapping the boot with each step. I wouldn't buy those again for that reason. Maybe I will change my mind after a season using them.
